SHTF is a common acronym among preppers and survivalists that means "Shit hits the fan". This is synonymous with "disaster" or "emergency", as you can imagine what a disaster it would be if S literally HTF.

Everyone should have an emergency preparedness kit of some sort. Many people keep "bug-out bags" or similar. Some people have a small "hurricane kit" full of batteries and candles. The SHTF BOX is a large, high-end survival kit that caters to people who want to enjoy superior preparedness, but don't have weeks of time to research, compare, shop, and assemble a kit from scratch. SHTF BOX is the culmination of years of experience and work, and our customers are people who recognize the value in leveraging that experience.

Any emergency where your physical safety isn't in immediate danger. If you are standing in the middle of a wildfire, survival involves getting away from it. If you are sitting at ground-zero for a nuclear strike, an emergency kit doesn't come into play. SHTF BOX, like most survival kits, are meant to get you through a grid-down situation that generally accompanies or follows a disaster event.

Bad weather causes extended power outages. An earthquake disrupts municipal services and transportation. Any situation where you are forced to go without electricity, running water, heat, or easy access to food and supplies is the sort of situation where a survival kit is imperative.

Imagine if your home's electricity went out today and was not expected to come back on for 10 days. Would you have everything you need to be alive, healthy, and comfortable?

Imagine a hurricane is about to make landfall, and you've got precious little time to load up enough supplies to get you from home to your family's farm 500 miles away through gridlocked evacuation traffic. Have you got a comprehensive kit with everything you need, ready to load up at a moment's notice?

There are a million different scenarios in which an effective survival kit comes into play, and most survival kits are not "one size fits all". With SHTF BOX, more scenarios are covered, and they're covered for longer.

Bugout bags have long been pushed as the catch-all survival kit, regardless if you intend to bug-in or bug-out. But they only make sense for a very narrow set of circumstances:

-If there is an emergency, you will leave your home.
-When you leave your home, you will do so on foot.
-You are physically able to hike to your destination.

In most disaster scenarios, staying put in your home is the best option. It's your shelter. It's where most of your stuff is. It's where your family is comfortable. You know the lay of the land, and you know it better than anybody else. For this reason, it makes the most sense to have supplies on hand to shelter in place for at least several days. The SHTF BOX has you covered for this, while being able to stow neatly in a basement, closet, or nearly anywhere else.

In the event that you must leave your home, will you do so on foot or will you have a vehicle? If you are forced to leave your home and you have a vehicle, you could grab a backpack that has barely any supplies. Or you could run around your house and spend the time to collect various items that you may need, and frantically throw them into your car. Or you can roll the SHTF BOX up to your car, toss it in, and go.

In short, bugout bags are fine and they have their purpose, but they are an absolutely bare-bones solution to a complex problem. A larger, more comprehensive option like the SHTF BOX provides a much more robust solution that equips you with extra supplies, better gear, and more food.

The exterior dimensions of SHTF BOX are 37x19x14 inches. The box itself has a 108 quart capacity.

The total weight of the box and its contents is approximately 60lbs. After filling the water containers, the total weight is approximately 68lbs.

5-30 years.

While some individual items should be checked or replaced every few years (such as batteries), most components will last indefinitely. The only items with a definite "use by" date is the food. The energy bars have a 5 year shelf life, and the freeze-dried food has a 30 year shelf life.

In general, it takes between 5 and 10 days for your order to arrive. Each SHTF BOX is expertly-packed by hand at the time of order. Additionally, the SHTF BOX is sent via ground shipping due to its weight.

During particularly busy times, SHTF BOX may be on backorder. Natural disasters or emergency events around the country can lead to a surge in orders. In the event that it is on backorder, you can still place your order and be next on the list to receive your SHTF BOX. On average, backorders add approximately 2 weeks lead time, though it may be longer or shorter.
